An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Planning Manager, supporting the Head of Financial Strategy and Planning in developing an effective Trust-wide financial planning process.

Working with other senior finance colleagues to ensure the finance function overall provides high quality, professional financial support to the Trust that meets the needs of the business.

In providing specialist financial expertise and leadership to the business there is an almost constant requirement for the post holder to exercise intense concentration and sustained mental effort in order to analyse, understand, retain and convey information. There is a frequent need for the post holder to prioritise and re-prioritise workloads according to the demands of stakeholders and to meet financial deadlines., The post holder will be one of three financial planning managers who will need to make decisions on a range of complex financial situations and be responsible for:. Coordinating the financial planning of the Trust including the Annual Planning Review, Long term planning, monthly returns and forecasts. Modelling long term planning assumptions (LTFM) to ensure the Trusts financial strategy is kept up to date. Reviewing business cases and managing the day-to-day governance of the Trust’s investment Board. Effective and accurate production of elements of financial performance and recovery (including CIP) reporting both to internal and external stakeholders in line with best practice requirements. Providing business partnering to support the Trusts capital programme., To lead in the delivery and presentation of the financial element of the Trusts Annual Plan and to oversee the production of a reliable forecasting process

Work closely with the Head of Finance MI, Analysis & Reporting to ensure the financial plan is accurately reflected in budgets.

Model the Trust short term (1 year) and long-term financial plans taking account of the effect of cost pressures, service developments and income assumptions including revisions to the tariff and changes to national policy and legislation.

To support the production of longer-term strategic projections in partnership with other senior managers and to lead on complex financial modelling displaying the effect of proposed service changes on the organisation.

Requires excellent planning skills and knowledge of the corporate priorities and systems of the Trust to develop long term Service Business Plans that both progresses and influences organisational priorities.

Work with the trust strategy team to ensure outcomes from the trusts strategic framework, clinical strategy and estates strategy are captured and reflected in the trusts long-term financial plan.

To challenge assumptions with relevant individuals and to be responsible for ensuring that financial modelling is robust, accurate and in line with overall Trust objectives, assessing risks and identifying risk-mitigating actions as required.

To interpret contracting rules especially for non-PbR and specialist NHSE commissioning.
