We are looking for Senior Dialysis Assistant to work at the King's Dartford Dialysis Unit in Kent.
We are a 12 stationed haemodialysis Unit providing dialysis for 72 patients.
You will support the nurses in delivering safe haemodialysis treatment to patients living with kidney failure.
The role focuses on providing direct patient care before, during and after treatment while ensuring equipment and the dialysis environment are safe and prepared.
Shifts:
- Long Day - 06:30-18:30hours
- Long Day Late - 10:30 - 22:30 hours
- Early - 06:30-14:30 hours
- Late - 14:30-22:30 Hours
Work 2 Long Days and 2 short days per week. Rotate every 1-2 months 5 day week.
Haemodialysis specific responsibilities:
- To safely prepare dialysis machines for treatment using all equipment as per patient's dialysis prescription
- To monitor and record in the Trust's Electronic Patients records System patient's clinical observations, as requested by a Registered Nurse
- To dispose of all HD circuit lines following infection control guidelines
- To decontaminate dialysis equipment following infection control guidelines and document using the HD decontamination checklist
- To support with checking in/discharge patients for treatment
- To participate in maintaining standards of hygiene, cleanliness and infection control, reporting problems as appropriate
- To ensure that equipment is clean at all times, stored safely when not in use and report faults as appropriate
- To assist in setting up and preparing patient areas appropriately to the clinical area.
- To ensure that stock levels of linen (where applicable), sterile supplies and stationery are maintained at all times in conjunction with the senior sister/ward receptionist.
- To assist in the maintenance and safekeeping of patients property in line with Trust policy
- To assist ward staff with general collection/delivery of items necessary to ensure effective operational management of ward/department
- To assist in performing the last offices as requested
