We are seeking a motivated, organised and proactive individual to join our Patient Experience & Involvement Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in strengthening how patients, families and the wider public shape our services.

Responsibilities

  • Support patient and public involvement activities.
  • Recruit and train "patient experts" across projects and programmes ensuring representative participants.
  • Maintain the involvement register.
  • Deploy and support "patient experts" within clinical settings to work alongside frontline teams for service improvement.
  • Organise events, workshops and involvement activities (face‑to‑face or virtual) ensuring accessibility.
  • Develop relationships with voluntary and community sector organisations and record relevant information.
  • Work with the communications team to develop and disseminate marketing materials that promote involvement opportunities.

Support the establishment of an impact function

  • Work with the patient experience team to develop methodologies to assess outcomes, impact and effectiveness of improvement projects.
  • Recruit, train and support social research volunteers; conduct surveys to evaluate programme delivery.
  • Ensure accurate capture and maintenance of data from research, evaluation or involvement activities.
  • Analyse, interpret and present information to enable timely decision‑making.

Provide efficient and comprehensive project and administrative support to the patient experience team

  • Maintain office systems, filing, record‑keeping and supplies.
  • Act as first point of contact for enquiries and manage the PPI mailbox.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and own component parts of projects.
  • Take proactive problem‑solving approach and present co‑designed solutions.
  • Develop and continually improve internal processes, maintain "co‑production" toolkit.
  • Organise and coordinate programmes of work and project meetings; support Leads with trackers and action logs.
  • Contribute to Trust compliance with CQC regulations and NHS statutory guidance.
  • Organise and attend meetings, prepare agendas, minutes and track actions.

Communication and representation

  • Attend meetings on behalf of the team and represent patient experience functions.
  • Develop relationships with service managers, frontline staff and care groups; persuade staff of project importance.
  • Communicate sensitive performance and change information by routine presentations.

General duties and responsibilities

  • General duty of care for own health, safety and wellbeing of colleagues, visitors and patients.
  • Observe King's College Hospital policies, professional obligations and maintain confidentiality.
  • Manage own personal development and contribute to colleagues’ development.

Requirements and Fit

  • Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control procedures, and NHS statutory guidance is expected.
  • Previous experience in patient engagement, project management or a related field would be advantageous.
