The post holder will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of patients under the supervision of a consultant neonatologist.
Responsibilities:
- Ward rounds, discharge planning, acute admissions and neonatal work in the neonatal unit.
- Responsibility for either the neonatal unit, postnatal ward and labour ward, working with other middle‑grade doctors.
- Regular attendance and active participation in neonatal outpatient clinics.
- Participation in overall supervision and education of junior doctors and medical students.
- Taking an active part in the department's education programme.
- Participation in audit; an audit project is expected in this post.
Qualifications:
- Previous paediatric and neonatal experience in a level‑2 or level‑3 neonatal unit.
- UK NHS experience essential.
- Desire to advance paediatric training and gain further neonatal and paediatric experience.
