We are seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant on a 12 month fixed term contract within the HIV and sexual health Service. This consultant post offers an exciting opportunity to work across Sexual Health, HIV medicine and General Internal Medicine within a large, innovative teaching hospital. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team providing high‑quality care to people living with HIV, delivering specialist sexual health services, and contributing to General Internal Medicine inpatient care at the Denmark Hill site.

Key responsibilities

  • Specialist HIV outpatient care
  • Genitourinary medicine clinics and senior clinical support
  • General Internal Medicine inpatient care
  • Participation in teaching, research and service development

The appointed physician will be based in the department of HIV medicine (Caldecot Centre) and carry out one HIV outpatient clinic per week, and will undertake General Internal Medicine ward cover on RDL ward in the main hospital. There will be some potential within the role to manage patients admitted with HIV related conditions. When not covering RDL inpatients, they will also carry out senior Genitourinary medicine support and specialist Genitourinary medicine clinics. The precise balance of activities will be agreed through job planning.
