The post holder is directly responsible for overseeing the delivery and monitoring of a range of Facilities services essential for the effective working of the Trust, including domestic, catering, portering, waste, pest control, linen/laundry, and any other facilities functions as required. Contribute to the delivery of high quality patient care by providing well-managed and maintained premises. As part of the Facilities Senior Management Team, the post holder will deputise for other Senior Managers if required. Participate in the formulation of the Trust's strategies and plans, monitoring and initiating action appropriately in relation to the department's contribution to the effective development and management of the Trust.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and monitor internal facilities contracts (pest control, window cleaning, waste, etc.) and participate in regular contract review meetings.
- Meet regularly with Heads of Departments (including Renal Dialysis Units, Queen Mary's, Beckenham Beacon, Orpington and others as agreed with Line Manager) to discuss service delivery.
- Prepare and present regular reports to the CEF Management team, detailing performance of contracted service areas, and provide presentations to senior staff on Soft FM service performance.
- Lead the PLACE auditing, reporting and rectification process for South Sites.
- Implement and continuously assess National Cleaning Standards.
- Use computer software to create and maintain databases, reports and spreadsheets for monitoring service performance.
- Represent clinical and non-clinical departments in handling complaints regarding service provider performance.
- Establish customer care groups to receive regular feedback and ensure services meet evolving customer needs.
- Maintain an accurate system of monitoring to assess value for money across facilities functions.
- Establish assessment criteria to measure performance standards and take proactive or corrective action when standards are not met.
- Review formal monitoring systems covering contract quality, quantity and cost, integrating customer satisfaction feedback.
- Deputise for the Line Manager as required.

Education and Qualification
NVQ4 or degree in management, administration or business studies or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.
Knowledge and Experience
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to form productive collaborative working relationships. Ability to work independently to manage complex and difficult situations where there is often conflict. Ability to manage initiatives within financial restraints and delivery to deadlines.
Skills and Competencies
Computer literate with good keyboard skills. Knowledge and understanding of the NHS and the challenges it faces.
