We are inviting applications to clinical fellow posts in the Critical Care department at King\’s College Hospital (the department covers both the Denmark Hill and Princess Royal University Hospital sites shortlisted candidates are asked to express a preference at interview). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience of working in a large tertiary critical care department under the mentorship of consultants with a range of tertiary hospital sub specialist interests (including, but not limited to major trauma neurology and neurosurgery cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery haematology including haemoncology.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicants will be assigned to one of 7 critical care units (6 based at the Denmark Hill site in South London, with a further 1 unit based at the Princess Royal University Hospital in Bromley), where they will work as part of the team of 8-9 resident doctors. The residents are responsible for the day-to-day management of patients on the critical care unit, under the supervision of a consultant intensivist.

This post is designed to provide experience in critical care to doctors who are familiar with the NHS and are considering pursuing a career in Intensive Care Medicine. Previous experience of working in critical care is not essential. We cannot provide GMC sponsorship to doctors who apply to this post. International graduates who do not have experience of working in the NHS are encouraged to consider our International Clinical Fellow advert.
