Job Overview

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating all incoming patients’ self-referral forms and assessing the King’s College Hospital catchment area.
  • Working in conjunction with the Matron, senior Midwife, and departmental Midwives to provide comprehensive administrative support.
  • Providing customer-oriented service mainly via telephone when dealing with patients.
  • Inputting all patient details from referrals and booking initial midwife and scan appointments.
  • Undertaking specific projects aligned with departmental objectives.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Providing administrative support to the clinic, senior Midwife, and clinic Doctors to ensure service continuity.
  • Participating in clinic reception duties, including welcoming patients, booking follow-up appointments, informing patients of delays, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assisting in collecting information for clinical governance, including handling complaints and adverse incidents, and ensuring timely responses.
  • Implementing local policies and practices as per Trust guidelines.
  • Monitoring service delivery issues and taking prompt, appropriate action.
  • Ensuring clinic facilities are fully prepared.
  • Checking and updating patient demographics to meet data quality standards.
  • Managing amendments, cancellations, and rescheduling of clinics and appointments.
