The predicted salary is between 12 - 15 £ per hour.

Safety is our number one priority, so Lifeguards work closely with Swim Teachers, Camp Managers and venue staff to ensure the facilities and equipment are safe, conducting risk assessments, monitoring water conditions, and mitigating incidents. Lifeguards need to ensure all children and support staff adhere to our policies, and the venue's Normal Operating Procedure and Emergency Action Plan throughout. Swim sessions typically last between 30 - 45 minutes. Session times and pool availability will vary, but we typically run sessions between 9.30am - 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. This role can also be accompanied with the Multi Sports Coach role if you're looking for more hours around swim sessions.

Working hours: Flexible between 9:30am-3:30pm Monday- Friday. Exact working hours also dependent upon the availability of the pool and the numbers of children attending.

Responsibilities:

  • Work side‑by‑side with Swimming Teachers and other staff to supervise and manage the safety of children and staff in the pool area.
  • Conduct risk assessments and monitor water conditions to prevent incidents.
  • Enforce the venue's Normal Operating Procedure and Emergency Action Plan.
  • Ensure that all swim sessions are delivered safely to mixed‑ability groups of children aged 5–17.
  • Support the ongoing training and professional development of staff and students.
  • Maintain a calm, alert presence and uphold water safety standards throughout each session.

Qualifications:

  • 6–12 months' lifeguarding experience.
  • Current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
  • National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC).
  • STA Safety Award for Teachers (or equivalent).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
