Key Stage One coaches are responsible for the specialist delivery of a high‑quality and safe school‑holiday experience for children aged 5‑7. Working with another KS1 coach with a group of 16 children, or independently with a group of 8, you will hold specific responsibility for programme delivery and welfare for this age group. Coaches lead active games and fun sports sessions (30‑45 minutes each), whole‑camp activities and weekly events from a pre‑designed timetable. You will also ensure the welfare of children is paramount, providing regular breaks, toilet trips, swimming sessions, safe use of equipment and promptly reporting any concerns relating to children’s welfare while implementing behaviour management and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality sports camps with energy, passion and the Kings Factor, staying active and on feet.
- Model best practice and provide high‑energy, fun and inclusive activity sessions.
- Monitor children’s welfare, enforce safety procedures and report concerns.
- Support and lead whole‑camp activities and weekly events.
- Operate within a pre‑designed timetable and manage break and toilet routines.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. Hours vary depending on ages and numbers of children attending. Full season (Mon‑Fri, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm) is preferred, with a minimum of three consecutive weeks during summer.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- 6‑12 months of recent experience (within the last 12 months) working with children aged 7 and under.
- Experience leading active games or activities.
- Knowledge and experience of Child Protection, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.
- A Level or equivalent qualification in Childcare, Primary or Secondary Education.
- Paediatric First Aid training (or willingness to obtain training).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
