Working alongside a Camp Manager, an Assistant Manager is responsible for programme delivery, including activity sessions, whole‑camp warm‑ups and weekly events. They plan and lead activities, supervise lunchtimes, model best practice to Red Tops, and act as a first- aider. They work Monday‑Friday 8am‑5:30pm, and help the Camp Manager ensure policies and operating procedures are followed. They set the standard for the team, plan timetables, share information, support coaching staff development and foster a positive camp culture.
Requirements
Availability for the full season (Mon‑Fri, 8am‑5:30pm). Minimum 3 consecutive weeks required during the summer.
1+ year experience working with children aged 5–17.
Minimum 6 months experience in a management or leadership role, or equivalent in Kings Camps, childcare, sports or teaching; a related degree or qualification.
Paediatric First Aid trained (or willing to train).
Legal eligibility to work in the UK.
Knowledge and experience of child protection, safeguarding and health and safety.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to motivate staff and children.
