Overview

Working alongside the Camp Manager leading a like-minded team of coaching staff, you\’ll be responsible for the delivery of a high-quality, school-holiday Kings Camps experience, ensuring children aged 5 to 17 are safe, active, having fun and learning together. The Assistant Manager has specific responsibility for programme delivery—including activity sessions, whole camp warm-ups and weekly events. They may need to lead activities, supervise lunchtimes and model best practice to less experienced Red Tops. The Assistant Manager acts as a responsible first aider and is available to speak with parents, staff or central office personnel, working with the Site Manager to ensure procedures and policies are followed. Child safety is our priority, so welfare of children is paramount at all times, including supervising breaks, participating in swimming sessions, overseeing safe use of equipment and promptly recording incidents. Implementing behaviour management policies and upholding health and safety standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead activity sessions, whole camp warm-ups and weekly events as directed by the Camp Manager.
  • Step in to lead activities, supervise lunchtimes and role-model best practice to less experienced Red Tops.
  • Act as a responsible first aider and be available to speak with parents, staff or central office personnel.
  • Work with the Site Manager to ensure operating procedures and policies are followed correctly.
  • Ensure child welfare is paramount at all times, supervising children during breaks, overseeing safe use of equipment and promptly recording incidents.
  • Implement behaviour management policies and uphold health and safety standards and procedures.
  • Be available for the full season (Mon-Fri, 8:00am–5:30pm) with a minimum of 3 consecutive weeks during the summer.

Qualifications

  • 12 months\’ experience working with children and young people.
  • 3+ months\’ experience in a management or leadership position.
  • Childcare, sports or teaching-related degree (or related qualification).
  • Knowledge and experience of Child Protection, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate.
  • Organised and able to follow policy and procedure.
  • Vibrant, resilient, team player; flexible and adaptable.
  • Paediatric First Aid (training opportunities are available).
