King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy is a mixed 11-18 academy serving a vibrant and diverse community. Judged to be Good by Ofsted (February 2023), we are proud of our committed staff and aspirational pupils. We seek a Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to making a difference to the lives of young people and work with class teachers to:
- Raise the learning and attainment of pupils
- Promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
- Provide support to pupils, individually or in groups, to secure access to the full curriculum
- Manage the behaviour of students whilst they undertake work, ensuring a constructive learning environment
- Respond to questions and requests for help from students
- Be highly motivated and enthusiastic
- Have high expectations of students and what they can achieve
- Be a committed team player
