Security Officer
Location: Gloucester City Homes, Quedgeley, Gloucester, GL2 4NF
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Hours: 42 Hours Per Week
Shift Pattern: 4 On, 4 Off
Hours of Work: 18:00 - 06:00
Days: Monday - Sunday
We are currently recruiting for a Security Officer to join our team supporting Gloucester City Homes in Quedgeley, Gloucester. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines security, reception and concierge responsibilities, as well as conducting mobile visits to various residential properties using a company vehicle. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of residents, visitors, staff and properties while delivering a professional and customer-focused service.
Duties will include managing access control, monitoring CCTV systems, carrying out internal and external patrols, responding to alarms and incidents, completing detailed reports, monitoring visitor and contractor activity, and acting as the first point of contact for residents and visitors. You will also undertake concierge and reception duties, assist with resident enquiries, provide a visible security presence across multiple locations, and conduct scheduled and ad-hoc mobile patrols of residential properties using a company vehicle. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a proactive approach to identifying and reporting security concerns.
Requirements
- Valid SIA Security Licence
- Enhanced DBS Check
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Comfortable driving a company vehicle as part of the role
- Previous security, concierge, reception or customer service experience preferred
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Professional, reliable and well-presented at all times
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions when dealing with incidents
