Are you an organised and proactive supervisor with experience in a fast-paced production or food manufacturing environment? Our client is seeking a Wet Area Supervisor to join their team in Canterbury, ensuring materials, stock, and resources are managed efficiently to support production operations.
The Role
As a Wet Area Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring production lines have the correct materials at the right time while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, safety, and stock control throughout the wet area.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure stock rotation procedures are followed at all times (oldest stock used first unless otherwise specified).
- Manage and distribute fruit and other materials in line with production plans.
- Ensure all returned stock has the correct traceability information attached.
- Deliver the correct stock and packaging materials to production lines on time.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised wet area and surrounding site areas.
- Monitor the condition and cleanliness of Fork Lift Trucks.
- Coordinate resources with the Packhouse Manager to meet production requirements.
- Supervise wet area staff, ensuring productivity, organisation, and correct PPE usage.
- Promote teamwork and provide operational cover when required.
- Monitor production plans and stock sheets to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Report stock discrepancies promptly to the Packhouse Manager.
- Maintain and enforce all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous supervisory experience within production, manufacturing, food processing, warehousing, or a similar environment.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage stock control and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Good understanding of health, safety, and hygiene requirements.
- Team‑focused approach with the ability to motivate and support colleagues.
- Forklift awareness or experience would be advantageous.
