Job Description

The Production Picker is responsible for accurately selecting, collecting and preparing materials and products required for manufacturing or packaging processes within a production environment.

This role involves working efficiently to meet production targets whilst maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

The position requires close attention to detail to ensure that items are picked according to specified instructions and that inventory records are kept up to date.

  • Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Pick and collect materials, components or finished goods from designated storage areas in accordance with production requirements.
  • Check items against production orders or pick lists to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare picked items for delivery to production lines or despatch areas, ensuring correct labelling and packaging where necessary.
  • Maintain an organised and clean work area to support efficient workflow and safety standards.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet trucks or trolleys safely and in line with health and safety guidelines.
  • Report any discrepancies, damaged goods or shortages to the supervisor promptly.
  • Assist with stock control activities including stock rotation, counting and recording of inventory.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills to accurately read pick lists and record data.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions carefully.

Education

  • General Certificate of Secondary Education or equivalent is desirable but not essential.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, production or manufacturing.
  • Experience using manual handling equipment is beneficial.
