Static Security Officer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Security Guard to join Kingdom Services Group Ltd at the Port of Lerwick, ZE1 area.

Hours: On average 48 – 60 hours per week, various shifts as per site requirements. The schedule is 5 on 5 off, with start and finish times varying depending on cruise ship schedules. Standard hours are 06:00 am – 06:00 pm.

Pay rate: £14.88 per hour.

Please note: This role is a seasonal fixed-term contract.

Main tasks

Play a vital role in ensuring the security and smooth operation of a busy UK port facility.

As a Port Security Officer, you\’ll uphold high standards of safety and compliance, protecting cargo, infrastructure, and personnel.

What will you be doing?

• Maintaining vigilance through regular patrols, monitoring activity, and identifying security threats.
• Managing access control for vehicles, personnel, and cargo, ensuring only authorized access.
• Promoting security awareness by training and guiding staff and contractors.
• Responding swiftly to incidents, coordinating with emergency services, and implementing protocols.
• Ensuring compliance with UK regulations and maritime security standards, including the ISPS Code.
• Reporting and documenting all security activities and incidents accurately.
• Using security software and communication systems effectively.
• Managing cruise operations to ensure safe arrivals, stays, and departures, and interacting with passengers to enhance their experience.

What do we need from you?

• A valid SIA license or willingness to undergo training (cost deducted from wages).
• A full five-year checkable employment history.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well within a team.
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and flexible approach.
• IT skills.
