Pay: Competitive Rate
Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts:
- 06:00 - 14:00
- 10:00 - 18:00

About The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a professional and reliable Security Officer to join our team at Drax Power Station.
This role is ideal for an experienced security professional who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment and takes pride in maintaining a safe and secure site.
You will play a key role in protecting personnel, visitors, equipment and assets while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the highest standards of security.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating gatehouses, weighbridge facilities and CCTV control rooms.
- Conducting regular foot and vehicle patrols across the site and perimeter.
- Monitoring premises, personnel and visitors to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Controlling access and egress of vehicles and individuals entering the site.
- Carrying out vehicle searches and security screening procedures where required.
- Responding appropriately to incidents, alarms and emergency situations.
- Completing accurate incident reports, logs and security documentation.
- Monitoring CCTV systems and reporting suspicious activity.
- Ensuring compliance with site-specific health, safety and security procedures.
- Providing professional customer service to staff, contractors and visitors at all times.
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- Full UK manual driving licence.
- Own transport due to the location of the site.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good IT and report‑writing skills.
- Previous experience in security, gatehouse operations and access control.
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
- Flexible approach to working patterns and operational requirements.
