Security Officer
Location: Hestia Crystal Palace, Orwell House, 66 Crystal Palace Park Road, SE26 6UN
Pay Rate: £14.80 per hour
Hours: 30 Hours Per Week
Shift Pattern: Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, 19:00 - 05:00
Requirements: Valid SIA Licence and Enhanced DBS Check

We are currently recruiting for a Security Officer to join our team at Hestia Crystal Palace, Orwell House. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional and reliable individual looking to develop their career within the security industry while making a positive difference in a supported housing environment.
As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, staff, and property. You will act as a visible security presence on site, ensuring all security procedures are followed and responding professionally to incidents as they arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safety and security of the premises at all times
- Controlling access and preventing unauthorised entry to the site
- Completing site logbooks, records, and incident reports accurately
- Conducting regular patrols of the building and surrounding areas
- Monitoring site activity and responding to security incidents
- Challenging and reporting suspicious behaviour when necessary
- Supporting residents, visitors, and staff with a professional and customer-focused approach
- Following all site-specific procedures, policies, and health and safety requirements
- Maintaining effective communication with management and emergency services when required
What We're Looking For
- A valid SIA Security Licence is essential
- Enhanced DBS check is required
- Previous security experience is desirable
- Strong communication and report-writing skills
- Professional, reliable, and self-motivated approach
- Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in challenging situations
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of service
