What’s the role all about?

As an EDM Operator / Setter, you’ll be responsible for setting, operating and maintaining EDM machinery to produce precision components to tight tolerances. You’ll play a key role in ensuring production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate EDM machines (Wire or Spark Erosion)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Ensure components are produced to tight tolerances and quality standards
  • Carry out basic machine programming or adjustments where required
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment
  • Inspect finished components using precision measuring tools
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to resolve issues
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
  • Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives

What you’ll need to succeed in this role:

  • Experience operating and setting EDM machinery (essential)
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
  • Experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of inspection tools and measurement techniques
  • A proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving
  • Experience with Wire EDM or Spark Erosion processes would be highly beneficial.
