What’s the role all about?
As an EDM Operator / Setter, you’ll be responsible for setting, operating and maintaining EDM machinery to produce precision components to tight tolerances. You’ll play a key role in ensuring production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate EDM machines (Wire or Spark Erosion)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Ensure components are produced to tight tolerances and quality standards
- Carry out basic machine programming or adjustments where required
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring tools
- Work closely with production and quality teams to resolve issues
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives
What you’ll need to succeed in this role:
- Experience operating and setting EDM machinery (essential)
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
- Experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of inspection tools and measurement techniques

- Experience with Wire EDM or Spark Erosion processes would be highly beneficial.
