Kingdom Security are recruiting a Flexible Seasonal Temporary Worker. The assignment is for a Security Guard working at the Port of Lerwick and surrounding areas of the harbour, ZE1 area.
Hours: On average hours per week, various shifts as per site requirements. Start and finish times will vary depending on the arrival and departure time of the ships.
Pay rate: £15.18 per hour. Weekly pay.
When: Start date of 01/04/2026
Job Purpose: Play a vital role in ensuring the security and smooth operation of a bustling UK port facility. As a Port Security Officer, you will be entrusted with upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance, protecting valuable cargo, infrastructure, and personnel.

What will you be doing?
- Maintaining Vigilance: Conduct regular patrols of the port, monitoring activity and identifying potential security threats.
- Access Control: Manage and enforce access procedures for vehicles, personnel, and cargo, ensuring only authorized individuals and goods enter restricted areas.
- Security Awareness: Foster a culture of security consciousness by providing training and guidance to port staff and contractors.
- Incident Response: Act swiftly and decisively in emergency situations, coordinating with emergency services and implementing response protocols.
- Compliance Champion: Ensure adherence to all relevant UK regulations and international maritime security standards, including the ISPS Code.
- Report and Document: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all security activities, incidents, and observations.
- Technology Savvy: Utilise security software and communication systems effectively to monitor activity and enhance overall security.
- Cruise Operation: Ensure the safe arrival, stay, and departure of cruise ships, passengers and visitors. Interacting with passengers visiting the local area for the day passing on local information and guidance to ensure they have an enjoyable experience.
What do we need from you?
- A valid SIA licence or we can put you through the training and the charge will be deducted from your wage.
- A full five year checkable employment history
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- An ability to work as part of a team
- An enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible approach
- IT skills
You will receive a contract of employment from your employer separately. You will receive your pay weekly on a Friday from HIVE360. You will not be working for Kingdom Service Group directly, although will have the opportunity to request your temporary agreement to be transferred to a Kingdom Contract in the future.
