Are you an experienced Quality Inspector or Inspection Technician ready to step into a leadership role? Have you enjoyed supporting a team, driving quality standards and ensuring products meet exact specifications in a precision manufacturing environment? We’re supporting a specialist engineering and manufacturing business in Fareham looking to recruit an Inspection Leading Hand to support their inspection and quality team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate daily inspection activities within the department
  • Carry out visual and dimensional inspections on components and assemblies
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards, specifications and customer requirements
  • Act as a point of contact for inspection‑related queries on the shop floor
  • Support and guide team members to maintain high performance and consistency
  • Identify and manage non‑conformances and rework activities
  • Ensure accurate completion of inspection documentation and records
  • Work closely with production, engineering and quality teams
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the inspection function
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment

What You’ll Need

  • Experience in a quality inspection role within manufacturing or engineering
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
  • Experience using manual measuring equipment (verniers, micrometres, gauges)
  • Previous experience supporting or leading a team (formally or informally)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus
  • Good communication and organisational skills

Desirable

  • Experience within precision engineering, aerospace or regulated environments
  • Exposure to CMM or advanced inspection techniques
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement or quality initiatives
