Kingdom Services Group have a great opportunity to join our team, working within a student accommodation complex at the University of the Highlands and Islands, as a Receptionist. UHI is an integrated university encompassing both further and higher education with a reputation built on an innovative approach to learning.

We are looking for someone who has the ability to remain calm and professional in a range of situations, quickly assessing and diffusing situations in line with UHI policies and values. No two days will be the same in this role. You will play a fundamental part in creating a great first and lasting impression on visitors to the campus, whilst making each visitor feel welcome.

Please Note: This role requires a criminal background check via the Disclosure and Barring Service. If you are the successful candidate, we will ask for your permission to access the DBS Update Service and we may also need to view your disclosure certificate.

Where: Fort William, PH33. When: We’re looking to get the right person in to the team ASAP. Salary: £13.45 per hour. Hours: On average 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday 08.30 am - pm.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Acting as an initial point of contact for visitors to site based at the reception
  • General enquiries and administration including answering telephone calls and responding to email enquiries in an appropriate and timely way and light administration duties in UHI’s student management system
  • Monitoring access to the premises and visitors
  • Support the accommodation team with room allocations, including assisting in assigning rooms and potential room swaps
  • Reporting incidents and anti-social behaviour to the relevant authorities
  • Recording information accurately and effectively
  • Provide front line resolution to student concerns and queries
  • Implementing policies and procedures to ensure effective service delivery
  • Ensuring culture and diversity issues for the clients are considered at all times, and reporting any forms of discrimination

What do we need from you?

  • Excellent communication & customer service skills
  • Flexible in duties undertaken
  • Professional in approach, with a balanced sense of judgement, and a keen eye for detail
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential
  • A full five-year checkable employment history
  • Own transport preferred

You will receive your pay weekly on a Friday from HIVE 360 Payroll Services Provider. You will not be working for Kingdom Service Group directly, although will have the opportunity to request your temporary agreement to be transferred to a Kingdom Contract in the future.
