Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced engineering environment where you can make a real impact on manufacturing performance and efficiency? We’re supporting a specialist aerospace manufacturing business who are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer to join their engineering team.
What’s the role all about? As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll support manufacturing operations by developing, improving and maintaining robust production processes across the business. You’ll work closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to improve efficiency, reduce waste and support the successful delivery of high-quality products within a regulated manufacturing environment. This is a varied role offering exposure to process improvement, root cause analysis, production support and New Product Introduction activities.
Key responsibilities- Support and improve manufacturing processes across production operations
- Drive continuous improvement activities to improve efficiency, quality and output
- Support production teams with technical and process engineering expertise
- Investigate manufacturing and quality issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and production readiness activities
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including process instructions and routings
- Analyse production data and KPIs to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Support PFMEA, Control Plans and process validation activities
- Work closely with Quality, Production and Supply Chain teams to resolve manufacturing challenges
- Ensure compliance with quality, environmental and health & safety standards
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies
- Problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical data
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments
- Aerospace or regulated manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Understanding of PFMEA, Control Plans and process capability
- Experience with ERP or manufacturing systems
- Exposure to Six Sigma or continuous improvement tools
