Are you an experienced Quality Inspector or Inspection Technician ready to step into a leadership role? Have you enjoyed supporting a team, driving quality standards and ensuring products meet exact specifications in a precision manufacturing environment? We’re supporting a specialist engineering and manufacturing business in Fareham looking to recruit an Inspection Leading Hand to support their inspection and quality team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and coordinate daily inspection activities within the department
- Carry out visual and dimensional inspections on components and assemblies
- Ensure all work meets quality standards, specifications and customer requirements
- Act as a point of contact for inspection‑related queries on the shop floor
- Support and guide team members to maintain high performance and consistency
- Identify and manage non‑conformances and rework activities
- Ensure accurate completion of inspection documentation and records
- Work closely with production, engineering and quality teams
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the inspection function
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
What You’ll Need
- Experience in a quality inspection role within manufacturing or engineering
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
- Experience using manual measuring equipment (verniers, micrometres, gauges)
- Previous experience supporting or leading a team (formally or informally)
- Strong attention to detail and quality focus
- Good communication and organisational skills
Desirable
- Experience within precision engineering, aerospace or regulated environments
- Exposure to CMM or advanced inspection techniques
- Experience supporting continuous improvement or quality initiatives
