Are you an experienced Buyer with a strong background in manufacturing or engineering? Do you enjoy building and developing supplier relationships while driving cost, quality, and delivery improvements? Looking for a role where you can contribute to both day-to-day procurement and new product development?

The Role

As Buyer, you will be responsible for managing and developing the supply base across mechanical components, subcontract processes, and materials, ensuring high standards of cost, quality, and delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Establishing and developing relationships with suppliers for mechanical components, subcontract processing, and materials
  • Managing supplier performance across technical capability and delivery metrics
  • Identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new suppliers
  • Negotiating pricing and commercial terms to meet budget and cost targets
  • Raising purchase orders, ensuring all technical, quality, delivery, and commercial requirements are clearly defined
  • Raising works orders for subcontracted processes
  • Monitoring supplier performance against quality and delivery KPIs
  • Supporting New Product Development activities
  • Acting as a key liaison between internal teams and external suppliers to ensure effective communication
  • Developing long‑term supplier agreements to strengthen business relationships and continuity of supply

About You

We’re looking for a proactive and commercially aware Buyer who can operate effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

You Will Ideally Have:

  • Previous experience in a purchasing/buying role within manufacturing or engineering
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Experience managing subcontract processes and supplier performance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A methodical and detail-focused approach
