Kingdom has a vision to make the UK a cleaner, safer, and greener place to live. To support us in achieving our vision, we are currently recruiting an Environmental Enforcement Officer in your area.
Location: Camden & Islington Boroughs, N1 1XR area.
Hours: On average 37.5 hours per week, shifts as per site rota (generally 5 on/2 off). Monday to Sunday shifts between 07:00am - 23:00pm (Some weekends are included within your rota).
Pay Rate: £13.50 - £16.00 per hour. WEEKLY PAY!
What The Role Is: Please note, own transport is required for this position.
- To assist in the day-to-day monitoring and enforcement of environmental issues, anti-social behaviour and contraventions of relevant legislation working alongside the Local Authority and Kingdom.
Environmental Law Enforcement:
- Enforce environmental regulations and local by-laws relating to littering, fly-tipping, graffiti, waste management, noise pollution, and other environmental concerns.
- Patrol assigned areas to detect violations and ensure compliance with environmental laws.
- Investigate reports of environmental offenses from the public and respond promptly to complaints.
Issuing Fines And Notices:
- Issue fixed penalty notices (FPNs) and citations to individuals or businesses for non-compliance with environmental laws.
- Prepare and serve legal documents, including warning notices and fines, in accordance with local laws.
- Conduct follow-up visits to ensure compliance with issued notices and take further action if necessary.
Investigation And Reporting:
- Investigate environmental offenses such as illegal dumping, abandoned vehicles, and unlawful waste disposal by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing case files.
- Use surveillance equipment, including cameras, to monitor and collect evidence of environmental crimes.
- Report findings to senior management and collaborate with legal teams to pursue prosecutions when necessary.
Court Proceedings And Legal Support:
- Prepare case files for prosecution, including collecting evidence, photographs, and witness statements.
- Attend court proceedings and present evidence as required to support legal action against environmental offenders.
Communication: Express information clearly and concisely to ensure understanding.
Flexibility: Adapt to change and work effectively in various situations and weather conditions.
Learning and Development: Participate in our training course to gain insight into daily duties, current legislation, communication, and interaction aspects of the role, earning a recognized qualification in environmental awareness.
