Job Role: Environmental Enforcement Officer
Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week, shifts as per site rota, Monday to Sunday between 07:00 and 21:00.
Pay Rate: £12.70 per hour.
Start Date: 24/02/25.

Role Overview: The Environmental Enforcement Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining public health, safety, and environmental standards by enforcing environmental laws and regulations. Responsibilities include investigating violations, issuing warnings, fines, or citations, and educating the public about environmental responsibilities. The officer will collaborate with local authorities, businesses, and residents to promote compliance and reduce environmental crimes such as littering, fly-tipping, and pollution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Environmental Law Enforcement: Enforce regulations related to littering, fly-tipping, graffiti, waste management, noise pollution, and other concerns. Patrol areas, investigate reports, and ensure compliance.
- Issuing Fines and Notices: Issue FPNs and citations, prepare and serve legal documents, and follow up for compliance.
- Investigation and Reporting: Gather evidence, interview witnesses, use surveillance equipment, report findings, and collaborate with legal teams.
- Court Proceedings and Legal Support: Prepare case files, attend court, and present evidence.
Skills and Attributes: Clear communication, adaptability to various situations and weather, willingness to participate in training for environmental awareness.
