Company: Kingdom Local Authority Support (Kingdom).
Location: Northampton, NN1 area.
Hours: On average 37.5 hours per week, shifts as per site rota. 2 week rolling rota Monday to Sunday (rotational weekends) 07:00am – 19:00pm.
Pay Rate: £12.60 per hour.
A clean full UK manual driving licence is required for this position, as you will be driving a company vehicle.

What The Role Is
The Environmental Enforcement Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining public health, safety, and environmental standards by enforcing environmental laws and regulations.
This position involves investigating environmental violations, issuing warnings, fines, or citations, and educating the public about environmental responsibilities.
The officer will work closely with local authorities, businesses, and residents to promote compliance and help reduce environmental crimes such as littering, fly-tipping, and pollution.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Law Enforcement:
- Enforce environmental regulations and local by-laws relating to littering, fly-tipping, graffiti, waste management, noise pollution, and other environmental concerns.
- Patrol assigned areas to detect violations and ensure compliance with environmental laws.
- Investigate reports of environmental offenses from the public and respond promptly to complaints.
Issuing Fines And Notices
- Issue fixed penalty notices (FPNs) and citations to individuals or businesses for non-compliance with environmental laws.
- Prepare and serve legal documents, including warning notices and fines, in accordance with local laws.
- Conduct follow-up visits to ensure compliance with issued notices and take further action if necessary.
Investigation And Reporting
- Investigate environmental offenses such as illegal dumping, abandoned vehicles, and unlawful waste disposal by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing case files.
- Use surveillance equipment, including cameras, to monitor and collect evidence of environmental crimes.
- Report findings to senior management and collaborate with legal teams to pursue prosecutions when necessary.
Court Proceedings And Legal Support
- Prepare case files for prosecution, including collecting evidence, photographs, and witness statements.
- Attend court proceedings and present evidence as required to support legal action against environmental offenders.
Communication: Express information clearly and concisely to ensure understanding.
Flexibility: Adapt to change and work effectively in various situations and weather conditions.
Learning and Development: Participate in our training course to gain insight into daily duties, current legislation, communication, and interaction aspects of the role, earning a recognized qualification in environmental awareness.
