We’re supporting a major organisation responsible for managing, maintaining and improving a significant and highly regulated UK infrastructure environment. As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll join the Engineering, Assurance and Compliance function, where you’ll provide technical leadership, governance and assurance for electrical distribution systems and assets across a large, complex site. You’ll be hands-on with technical problem-solving, regulatory compliance and supporting both engineering and operational teams.
Responsibilities- Ensuring electrical systems comply with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Providing technical acceptance and assurance for electrical designs
- Owning and solving complex engineering challenges
- Producing and maintaining safety management systems
- Supporting defect triage, investigations and issue resolution
- Developing maintenance plans and electrical engineering policies
- Creating engineering concessions to support operational continuity
- Assessing asset condition and contributing to long-term asset planning
- Supporting strategic infrastructure improvement initiatives
This is a highly varied, meaningful role where your decisions will directly influence safety, reliability and operational performance.
What You’ll Bring- 5+ years’ experience in an electrical engineering discipline
- Strong understanding of power distribution systems
- Experience in a regulated or safety-critical infrastructure environment
- Knowledge of defect identification, troubleshooting and maintenance strategies
- Ability to balance system-level thinking with component-level detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Engineering professional membership (IEng or working toward)
- IOSH Managing Safely / SMSTS / CSCS or similar
