An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Security Officer to join Kingdom Services Group Ltd. We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join the team at Edinburgh Castle EH1 area, one of Scotland's most iconic landmarks. The role is critical in ensuring the safety and security of visitors, staff, and the historic site itself. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to upholding safety standards. Applicants will need to undertake a DBS and will need to be able to understand Safeguarding.
Start Date: ASAP!
Hours: On average 40-48 hours per week, shifts as per site rota. 6 on 3 off, Monday to Sunday. Winter hours: 09:00am - 17:00pm & Summer hours: 09:00am - 18:00pm.
Pay rate: £12.60 per hour.

Responsibilities:
- CCTV monitoring and operation.
- Baggage searches.
- Be a visible presence at front of house.
- Patrol perimeter of Castle Esplanade.
- Attend calls made by Historic Environment Scotland staff for assistance.
- Be present at the firing of the One O'Clock Gun.
- Ensure that all interactions with visitors are appropriate to a 5-star visitor attraction. Security personnel must be polite, engaged, and helpful at all times when interacting with visitors.
- Maintain regular radio contact with Historic Environment Scotland personnel consistent with radio protocols and use set by Historic Environment Scotland's Contract Manager.
- On rare occasions, assist the Duty Manager in escorting visitors from site.
- Fluent in the use of the English language.
Person Specification:
- A valid SIA licence.
- A valid SIA CCTV License.
- Own transport is required.
- Excellent communication & customer service skills.
- Professional in approach, with a balanced sense of judgement, and a keen eye for detail.
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.
- A full five-year checkable employment history.
