Freelance Senior Site Manager / Site Engineer required for a £40m+ new build education project in Hounslow, West London with a Tier 1 main contractor. This is a long-term opportunity (circa 2-3-year programme) for a strong Senior Site Manager with a qualified engineering background, capable of leading external works while also carrying out setting out and site engineering duties.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience operating at Senior Site Manager level on projects £40m+
- Strong track record delivering external works packages (groundworks, RC frame, steel frame, lifting operations)
- Must be a qualified Site Engineer with hands-on setting out experience
- Confident using robotic total station (essential)
- Ability to manage subcontractors, chair meetings and drive programme on site
- Experience with S278 works desirable
- SMSTS, First Aid and CSCS (Gold / Black / White) essential
- Must be within commutable distance of Hounslow, West London
- Must be willing to provide verifiable work references
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all external works packages on site
- Manage subcontractors, site logistics and programme delivery
- Chair subcontractor meetings and drive performance
- Monitor and enforce quality control across all works
- Carry out setting out duties including piling and external works
- Read and interpret drawings, complete as-built surveys
- Liaise with design teams to resolve technical issues
- Oversee site safety, RAMS, permits and inductions

- Location: Hounslow, West London
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30am–5:30pm
- Rate: £330–£400 per day (negotiable depending on experience, CIS / LTD considered)
