Do you have experience coordinating inbound shipments, working with freight forwarders and ensuring goods move smoothly through customs and arrive at their destination on time?
We're supporting a global manufacturing organisation in Petersfield who are looking to recruit 2 Transportation Coordinators to join their Supply Chain team on an initial 4-month fixed-term contract .This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on logistics experience who can hit the ground running within a busy, international supply chain environment. What's the role all about?
As a Transportation Coordinator , you'll help coordinate inbound shipments across EMEA and the UK , including materials moving into manufacturing facilities and third-party manufacturing sites.
You'll take ownership of the track and trace process from origin through to final delivery , working closely with planners, freight forwarders, carriers, customs agents and destination sites. A big part of the role is spotting potential delays before they become a problem, ensuring import and export documentation is accurate and keeping everyone updated on the progress of priority shipments.
What will you be doing?
Coordinate inbound transportation across UK and EMEA manufacturing locationsTrack and trace shipments from origin through to final deliveryPlan and execute inbound shipments to ensure on-time deliveryWork closely with freight forwarders, carriers, handling agents, customs teams and internal plannersIdentify potential transportation delays and proactively coordinate solutionsEnsure import and export documentation is accurate and completeHelp prevent shipments being delayed or held within customsCoordinate the movement of components and finished materialsPrioritise shipments based on requirements at destination sitesArrange freight capacity and book trucks for daily transportation requirementsEnsure priority shipments are loaded and dispatched in line with agreed schedulesMonitor and verify inbound product balancesEnsure transportation and EDI information is accurately reflected within internal systemsProduce and monitor daily logistics KPIsRespond to queries and coordinate with the appropriate internal teamsArrange special shipping requirements when necessarySupport transportation and supply chain improvement projectsWhat do you need?
We're looking for someone with: Around 1–3 years' experience within transportation, freight forwarding, logistics or import/exportExperience coordinating international shipmentsGood understanding of logistics and transportation processesKnowledge of customs and import/export documentationExperience working with freight forwarders, carriers or logistics providersStrong organisational skillsAbility to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneouslyGood analytical and problem-solving skillsConfidence working independently in a fast-changing environmentExcellent attention to detailGood Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and OutlookStrong written and verbal EnglishA commercial apprenticeship within Freight Forwarding/Logistics , Advanced Training in International Trade or equivalent practical experience would be beneficial.
