Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer looking to step into a senior-level role within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment? Do you enjoy leading improvement projects, solving complex manufacturing challenges and driving operational performance? We are supporting a specialist aerospace manufacturing business who are looking to recruit a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their engineering team.

What’s the role all about? As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll play a key role in driving manufacturing excellence across production operations. You’ll be responsible for supporting manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, reducing waste and leading continuous improvement initiatives within a highly regulated engineering environment. This role will also involve mentoring junior engineers, supporting New Product Introduction activities and working closely with Production, Quality and Supply Chain teams to optimise manufacturing performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects across manufacturing operations
  • Develop and optimise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality and output
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and production readiness activities
  • Investigate production and process issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and waste reduction initiatives
  • Support PFMEA, Control Plans and process documentation
  • Analyse manufacturing data and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities
  • Work closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to support operational performance
  • Support tooling, equipment and process validation activities
  • Mentor and support junior engineering team members
  • Ensure compliance with quality, environmental and health & safety standards

What you’ll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering
  • Experience within a manufacturing or aerospace engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving tools
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, process control and manufacturing documentation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to lead technical projects and support cross-functional teams

Desirable

  • Aerospace or regulated manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of AS9100 or similar quality standards
  • Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams
  • CAD or process simulation experience
  • Six Sigma or Lean qualifications
