Our client is a leading company, predominantly serving the retail sector, providing refrigeration and air conditioning services to major brands. They are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Engineer to join their team.

The successful candidate will work a basic 40-hour week with overtime payments, potentially earning over £50k annually.

Location: West Yorkshire Region

Salary: £17.50/hour (£36,400 base) + OT & Call Out (OTE up to £50K)

Working Hours:

  • Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • Late Shift: 1 in 4 weeks, 12:00pm - 2:00pm start for 8 hours (min 4 hours at 1.5x)
  • Weekend Call Out: 1 in 4 (1.5x Saturdays, 2x Sundays)
  • 40 hours per week + overtime

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform PPM and reactive maintenance on refrigeration and AC systems
  • Diagnose and repair faults and breakdowns
  • Service a wide range of refrigeration and air-con units
  • Work with bespoke control systems
  • Maintain accurate service records
  • Respond to emergency callouts on a rota basis
  • Maintain van stock levels and tools
  • Comply with health and safety regulations
  • Work independently across the West Yorkshire area

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in refrigeration
  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Refrigeration & AC (preferred)
  • FGAS (City & Guilds 2079) certification
  • Hydrocarbon handling qualifications
  • Strong refrigeration knowledge (80% of work is refrigeration-focused)
  • Field-based experience, comfortable working on-call and late shifts
  • Problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Pay & Overtime Structure:

  • Overtime from 4:30pm on late shift weeks
  • £26.25/hour overtime rate
  • 4 hours/day minimum OT during late shift
  • £105/day OT 5 days = £525/week OT
  • Approx. £6,825/year from OT
  • Estimated total earnings: £43,225 - £50,000/year
  • 1 in 4 weekend callout rotation
