We\’re currently hiring a Plating Technician to join a busy plating shop, with a focus on Barrel Plating and the opportunity to develop across a variety of plating processes.

In this role, you\’ll be responsible for plating micro components to high standards, using various finishes including gold and tin. You\’ll work with precision measurement tools, handle chemicals safely, and follow strict procedures to meet production schedules. It\’s a varied and fast-moving role that requires attention to detail, adaptability, and an understanding of manufacturing processes.

Upto £32,000pa + 22.5% Uplift, with great benefits and a stable full-time position. Initially days shifts moving to late after training period.

What do you need?

  • Previous experience plating metals (ideally barrel plating)
  • Knowledge of COSHH and safe chemical handling
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • A plating or materials finishing qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong time management and the ability to prioritise under pressure
  • Willingness to work shift patterns if required
  • Full right to work in the UK

What will you be doing?

  • Operating barrel plating lines
  • Measuring plating thickness using XRF/Fisher Scope equipment
  • Handling and working safely with hazardous chemicals (PPE and training provided)
  • Maintaining equipment and supporting routine maintenance
  • Following planned schedules to ensure on-time delivery
  • Understanding the full lifecycle of products and how chemicals impact the process
