We're supporting a global manufacturing business who are looking to recruit a QC Laboratory Manager to lead quality control activities within a fast-paced laboratory environment.

As a QC Laboratory Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Quality Control Laboratory, ensuring all testing, compliance and quality activities are completed accurately, efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements. You'll lead a team of laboratory professionals, providing technical guidance, driving continuous improvement and ensuring products meet both internal and external quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced laboratory leader looking to make a real impact within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage daily Quality Control laboratory activities and testing operations
  • Ensure timely testing and release of raw materials, bulk product and finished goods
  • Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support across laboratory operations
  • Lead investigations into Out of Specification (OOS) results and product quality issues
  • Review and approve analytical data, laboratory records and documentation
  • Manage testing data and product release activities through SAP and LIMS systems
  • Oversee environmental monitoring, validation studies and non-routine testing activities
  • Manage laboratory equipment qualification, calibration and change control activities
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO standards and internal quality systems
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and laboratory performance improvements
  • Monitor laboratory KPIs and implement corrective actions where required
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching and development of laboratory team members
  • Support audits, inspections and regulatory compliance activities
What you'll need

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • Minimum 5 years' laboratory experience
  • At least 3 years' experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Background within Quality Control, Analytical Chemistry, Microbiology or Product Evaluation
  • Experience working within a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of GMP and laboratory quality systems
  • Experience investigating quality issues and non-conformances
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Desirable
  • Experience within cosmetics, pharmaceutical, healthcare or consumer goods manufacturing
  • Knowledge of ISO standards
  • Experience using SAP, LIMS and electronic Quality Management Systems
  • Experience managing equipment qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Statistical analysis and data interpretation experience
