We're supporting a leading marine manufacturing business in Havant who are looking to recruit a Front Line Leader to join their production team on a Double Day Shift.

Shift Pattern & Salary

  • Double Day Shift
  • Early Shift: 6:00am – 2:00pm
  • Late Shift: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
  • £14.83 per hour
  • 22.5% Shift Uplift
  • Permanent position

What’s the role all about?

As a Front Line Leader, you'll take responsibility for leading and supporting a production team, ensuring safety, quality, delivery and productivity targets are achieved. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend approximately 50% of your time actively involved in machining or assembly activities, while also coaching, supporting and developing your team. You'll be the first point of contact for your team, ensuring processes are followed, performance is monitored and continuous improvement opportunities are identified.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and support a team within a manufacturing environment
  • Coordinate workloads and resources to achieve production targets
  • Spend time actively supporting machining and assembly activities
  • Monitor team performance and provide coaching and guidance
  • Conduct daily performance reviews against SQDCP metrics
  • Lead and participate in Tier 1 production meetings
  • Drive quality, productivity and delivery performance
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Support training, development and performance management activities
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture
  • Drive continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives
  • Manage stock accuracy and support inventory control activities
  • Work closely with production and management teams to achieve business objectives

What you’ll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in a Team Leader, Production Leader, Supervisor or Senior Operator role
  • Background within manufacturing, engineering or assembly environments
  • Strong people leadership and coaching skills
  • Good understanding of production KPIs and performance management
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Good IT and numerical skills
  • Ability to lead by example and remain hands-on within production

Desirable

  • Engineering or manufacturing qualifications
  • Experience within machining, assembly or precision manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement
  • Experience leading daily production meetings and KPI reviews
