Are you an experienced Manual Machinist who takes pride in precision, accuracy and high-quality workmanship? Do you enjoy working with manual lathes, mills and finishing equipment to produce components to tight tolerances? We are supporting a specialist manufacturing business who are looking to recruit a Manual Machinist to join their Machine Shop team.
Whats the role all about? As a Manual Machinist, you’ll be responsible for the safe and accurate machining of metallic components, working from engineering drawings, job cards and process sheets. This is a hands-on role where quality, traceability and attention to detail are key.
Key responsibilities- Operate manual lathes, manual mills and workshop machinery
- Work from engineering drawings, job cards and process sheets
- Machine and finish components to tight tolerances
- Carry out precision inspections using manual measuring tools
- Maintain accurate traceability documentation and test sheets
- Support MRB, NCR and audit activities where required
- Complete TPM routines to support tooling and machine life
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Minimise scrap, rework and waste through efficient working practices
- Support continuous improvement and 5S activities
- Previous manual machining experience
- Experience using manual mills, lathes and workshop tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
- Strong measurement accuracy and attention to detail
- Good record-keeping and traceability discipline
- A reliable, self-motivated and quality-focused approach
- Machining / toolmaking apprenticeship
- Aerospace or precision engineering experience
- Surface grinding experience
- Exposure to 5S or continuous improvement
