Are you an experienced Group HSE Manager ready to take ownership of health, safety and environmental strategy across multiple manufacturing sites? Do you combine strong technical knowledge with pragmatic leadership and the ability to influence at Board level? If so, this could be an outstanding opportunity. We’re supporting a well-established international manufacturing group seeking a senior HSE leader to shape and drive corporate strategy across all sites. This is a highly visible, Group-level role reporting directly to the Managing Director.

As Group Health, Safety & Environment Manager, you will be responsible for formulating, coordinating and monitoring all corporate HSE programmes, ensuring consistent implementation across multiple locations. You’ll act as the strategic lead for Health, Safety and Environmental performance – embedding standards, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement across the division.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining Group HSE policies and procedures
  • Leading and monitoring HSE performance against Board-level KPIs
  • Implementing and driving ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
  • Establishing new environmental programmes across all sites
  • Conducting corporate HSE audits across multiple locations
  • Advising Executive Management on serious incidents and regulatory matters
  • Ensuring statutory compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Leading investigations into accidents, environmental incidents and near misses
  • Analysing HSE data and presenting trends to senior leadership
  • Advising on safe systems of work, risk assessments and operational procedures
  • Supporting safe design and commissioning of new plant, equipment and facilities
  • Building and maintaining relationships with regulatory authorities
  • Driving HSE training, awareness and behavioural safety initiatives

This is a strategic yet hands-on leadership role where visibility, credibility and influence are essential.

To succeed as a Group HSE Manager, you’ll bring:

  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Environmental qualification (IEMA or NEBOSH Environmental Certificate)
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
  • Extensive experience in a manufacturing HSE leadership role
  • Experience managing HSE performance across multiple sites
  • Excellent understanding of UK statutory HSE legislation
  • Proven ability to engage at Board and senior leadership level
  • Strong analytical and reporting capability
  • Full UK driving licence (travel required)

Desirable:

  • Engineering background or qualification (HNC or apprenticeship)
  • Project management experience
