We’re supporting a well-established business based in Gillingham, Kent, operating a busy warehouse and distribution function. This is a key leadership role where you’ll take ownership of stock, people, health & safety and daily operations — ensuring everything runs efficiently and to a high standard.
As the Warehouse Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the warehouse, overseeing goods in, storage, picking, packing, dispatch and associated logistics activities. You’ll lead the warehouse team, manage stock accuracy and ensure health & safety standards are consistently met. This is a hands-on management role where you’ll be visible on the warehouse floor and closely involved in daily operations.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing all warehouse operations, including inbound and outbound logistics
- Ensuring orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time
- Maintaining an efficient warehouse layout and space utilisation
- Leading, motivating and managing the warehouse team
- Allocating workload and managing staffing levels
- Managing stock movements, cycle counts and stock takes
- Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies
- Processing returns and feeding back to purchasing and sales teams
- Managing courier relationships and resolving delivery issues
- Ensuring full compliance with health & safety legislation
- Carrying out risk assessments and promoting a strong safety culture
- Maintaining accurate warehouse documentation and records
- Supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives
To be successful as a Warehouse Manager, you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in a warehouse management or supervisory role
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and stock control
- Good knowledge of health & safety requirements
- Confident people-management and leadership skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience using warehouse systems, ERP software and Excel
- A hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving
Desirable:
- Experience in the automotive aftermarket, wheels or tyre industry
- Tyre fitting experience
- Forklift licences
- Experience implementing process improvements
Hours & Package:
- Monday to Friday | 9:00am – 5:30pm
- 40 hours per week
- Competitive salary (experience dependent)
- Permanent, full-time role
- Based in Gillingham, Kent
