Do you enjoy programming, setting and operating CNC machinery while producing high-quality precision components? We are supporting a specialist manufacturing business who are looking to recruit a CNC Turner to join their operations team.
As a CNC Turner, you'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes to manufacture high-precision components to exact specifications. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced precision engineering environment where quality, accuracy and attention to detail are critical. You'll work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure products are manufactured efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Programme, set and operate CNC Fanuc and/or Mazak Lathes
- Write and optimise CNC programs from engineering drawings and specifications
- Set up machines including tooling, fixtures and raw materials
- Prove out new programs and ensure successful machine operation
- Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances
- Carry out in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
- Work closely with engineers and machinists to resolve production challenges
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality procedures
Experience required:
- Programming, setting and operating CNC lathes
- Working within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment
- Experience with Mazak machinery
- Aerospace manufacturing experience
- CAD/CAM software experience, ideally Fusion 360
- Experience using CMM equipment or QCT software
