As they continue to expand their development pipeline, they are looking for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team and help shape the next generation of projects.
About the Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the commercial function across multiple live housing developments. You'll work closely with Senior QSs, Site Managers, and the wider delivery team to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the exceptional standards my client is known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost management: Assist in preparing cost plans, budgets, and valuations.
- Procurement support: Help prepare tender packages, analyse subcontractor quotes, and draft orders.
- Measurement & take-offs: Produce accurate quantities from drawings and specifications.
- Commercial reporting: Contribute to monthly CVRs, forecasting, and financial updates.
- Subcontractor management: Support payment applications, variations, and final accounts.
- Site visits: Attend sites to monitor progress, check measures, and build strong working relationships.
About You
We're looking for someone who is proactive, detail-driven, and eager to grow within a supportive commercial team.
Essential
- Working toward or recently completed a Quantity Surveying degree (or equivalent).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and measurement software.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- A genuine interest in residential construction and development.
Desirable
- Experience in a housebuilding or contractor environment.
- Understanding of JCT contracts.
- Full UK driving licence.
