Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with strong ERP system knowledge and a passion for data accuracy, process improvement and manufacturing excellence? Do you enjoy working at the intersection of engineering, production and systems, ensuring manufacturing data supports efficient operations and business growth? We're supporting Porvair in Fareham who are looking to recruit an ERP Manufacturing Engineer to join their Operations team.

What’s the role all about? Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the ERP Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the creation, maintenance, validation and continuous improvement of manufacturing master data within the ERP system. You'll play a critical role in ensuring Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, work centres and production standards are accurate, controlled and aligned with engineering, quality and operational requirements. This role would suit someone who enjoys both manufacturing engineering and data-driven process improvement, with a strong understanding of ERP systems within an engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

  • ERP System Ownership
    • Create, maintain and validate ERP master data including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing routings
    • Ensure Engineering Change Control is correctly applied to all releases
    • Manage system updates for both new and existing products
    • Develop rework routings to support repair and recovery activities
    • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities with validated manufacturing data
    • Ensure manufacturing data is accurate, controlled and released correctly
  • Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
    • Review and improve manufacturing routings to support production performance
    • Analyse material variances and identify opportunities for improvement
    • Support continuous improvement projects across manufacturing operations
    • Lead and participate in Value Stream Mapping (VSM) activities
    • Drive improvements in ERP data quality to support operational efficiency
    • Work closely with Engineering, Production and Quality teams to optimise manufacturing processes
  • Health, Safety & Compliance
    • Support a positive safety-first culture across the business
    • Assist with risk assessments and HSE investigations where required
    • Ensure manufacturing releases align with approved and safe operating practices
    • Support compliance with AS9100 quality requirements

What you’ll need

  • Degree qualified in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience working with ERP systems within manufacturing
  • Ability to understand and interpret mechanical engineering drawings
  • Experience working within manufacturing engineering environments
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication and surface treatment processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Experience working within an AS9100 regulated environment

Desirable

  • Experience with Syspro ERP
  • CAD experience
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience within CNC machining environments
  • Exposure to New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
