Our client is seeking a proactive and commercially minded Internal Sales Executive to support the Business Development team by preparing bespoke quotations, managing customer enquiries, and driving sales opportunities from initial enquiry through to order placement. Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, handling enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Support Business Development Managers by managing incoming sales opportunities and customer requests.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities for additional business.
- Follow up quotations and proposals to maximise conversion rates and secure new orders.
- Liaise with customers regarding product specifications, pricing, lead times, and technical requirements.
- Prepare accurate, detailed, and bespoke quotations based on customer specifications and project requirements.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documentation where applicable.
- Work closely with internal departments to ensure all quotations are commercially viable and technically accurate.
- Ensure all quotations are issued within agreed timescales and followed through to conclusion.
- Maintain accurate records of quotations, pricing, and customer communications within the CRM system.
- Provide administrative and commercial support to Business Development Managers.
- Assist in identifying new sales opportunities within existing and prospective accounts.
- Attend customer meetings and project reviews where required.
- Support the preparation of tenders, presentations, and sales documentation.
- Monitor sales pipelines and provide regular updates on quotation status and business opportunities.
- Work closely with Operations, Production, Engineering, and Procurement teams to ensure customer requirements can be delivered effectively.
- Coordinate project information and order requirements to facilitate smooth handovers.
- Ensure excellent communication between customers and internal stakeholders throughout the sales process.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in an Internal Sales, Sales Support, Estimating, Quotations, or Customer Account Management role.
- Background within the construction, manufacturing, or engineering industry.
- Experience producing detailed and bespoke customer quotations.
- Strong commercial awareness and customer-focused approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
