A leading UK design and build contractor delivering high-quality residential, student accommodation, hotel, mixed-use and commercial developments across the UK. The business has established a reputation for delivering complex schemes with a focus on quality, innovation, safety and client satisfaction. Due to continued growth and the award of a new £28m development in Manchester, they are seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for the successful delivery of this flagship scheme.
As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of the project from procurement through to final account. Working closely with the Project Director, Site Team and Commercial Manager, you will ensure robust cost control, accurate reporting and effective subcontract management throughout the project lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor looking to progress their career within a dynamic and growing main contractor environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the commercial delivery of a £28m construction project.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts and cash flow reports.
- Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
- Procure and manage subcontract packages from tender through to final account.
- Prepare, submit and negotiate interim valuations and applications for payment.
- Assess and manage subcontractor applications and payments.
- Identify, value and negotiate variations, compensation events and change control.
- Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Prepare accurate monthly commercial reports for senior management.
- Assist with contract administration in accordance with JCT contracts.
- Support project teams in achieving programme and financial targets.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, governance and commercial best practice.
The Candidate:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
- Minimum 4-8 years' experience within a main contractor environment.
- Proven experience delivering projects valued between £10m and £50m.
- Strong knowledge of JCT Design.
