KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
The Engineer must be able to demonstrate a successful track record in R&S Design, liaising with consultants, statutory bodies and subcontractors and possess a good all-round knowledge of site development and the road and sewer adoption process. They must have extensive experience of working with contractors and knowledge of the construction of roads, sewers and foundations for residential developments. Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office. Proficient using AutoCAD, and preferably have a working knowledge of PDS and MicroDrainage.
JOB ROLE
- Assist in the preparation of project environmental procedures.
- Visit sites periodically to monitor construction compliance with issued information, planning conditions etc.
- Check the design and construction of highways, drainage, services, groundworks, landscaping, infrastructure, and all associated ancillary works.
- Liaise with solicitors in the production of section 38/278, 104 Agreements.
- Liaise with all internal departments to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget.
- Provide the Estimating Department at viability stage high-level drainage, foundation, and cut & fill drawings to ascertain approximate volumes of arisings/deficit to support a land bid.
- Produce Development Strategies for the on-site material management of all proposed arisings i.e., foundation, roads, sewers, services etc.
- Provide monthly reports showing the progress of the Strategy, i.e., material generated, disposal of site, stockpile management etc.
- Work alongside the Architectural and Land teams in obtaining fee quotes from consultants to support a planning application and ensure the associated reports are prepared and delivered on time.
- Check the agreed specification and ensure all works are constructed in accordance with the design drawings and completed within budget.
- Liaise with geo-environmental consultants to understand existing ground conditions, prepare Remediation Strategy, spoil management and obtain plot validation certificates to be uploaded to the NHBC/LABC portals prior to plot legal completion.
- Support the construction Department in achieving the adoption of the roads and sewers by the local authorities/United Utilities/NAV.
- Ensure technical information is current and available for design and build stages.
- Effective communication of technical issues to all parties.
- Ensure statutory consents and approvals are secured prior to commencement of the build.
- Ensure that the works are constructed and commissioned safely in accordance with design data, standards and specifications.
- Manage and keep accurate records of all testing processes.
- Provide technical input in the management of services, products and subcontractors.
- Compliance with and collation of supporting information for KHL Quality Management System.
- Support the Senior Engineer.
