The Company is a Large Civil and Energy Main Contractor based in the North West, with clients nationwide. They are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with Utilities / Power / Energy Experience.
The Role involves:
- Working in partnership with site management, commercially supporting sites as required, to develop a proactive site team.
- Ensuring that contractual obligations are identified and administered.
- Vetting contract documentation on receipt from Client to ensure compatibility with the Company’s Tender and subsequent negotiations.
- Producing a Commercial Risk Register for each contract.
- Monitoring risk and assisting in the implementation of agreed mitigation measures.
- Preparing and issuing enquiries for Major Plant & Equipment and Sub-Contract packages.
- Vetting quotations commercially and negotiating price and terms with vendors.
- Issuing resultant Purchase Orders.
- Preparing and submitting Applications for Payment and/or Invoices, obtaining Payment Certificates and progressing Client Payments in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Measuring, submitting and agreeing Variations, Loss & Expense and/or Compensation Events in accordance with contractual provisions to facilitate prompt agreement of Final Accounts.
- Monitoring on-site record keeping.
- Preparing and issuing Notices in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Preparing and submitting monthly Cost Value Reconciliations and Cash/Spend Profiles.
- Attending Contract Review Meetings.
- Authorising and coding Suppliers’ and Sub-Contractors’ Invoices and submission to Finance for payment.
- Measuring, certifying and agreeing Sub-Contractors interim valuations and final accounts.
- Preparing and issuing contractual notices to Sub-Contractors.
Desired Skills:
- A senior quantity surveyor who has a successful construction portfolio.
- Educated to BSc in Quantity Surveying (or other equivalent commercially related discipline).
- Member of Profession Institution (e.g. MRICS or similar).
- Knowledge and working experience of Mechanical / Electrical services and/or utilities.
- Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness.
- Full UK manual driving licence.
