Are you a qualified Mobile Crane Operator ready to take on something bigger? We are currently hiring Multi-Skilled Mobile Crane Operators to join the Alongside Services team at Portsmouth Naval Base – supporting Royal Navy operations, visiting navies, and engineering teams with complex heavy lifting tasks across the site.

This role is all about delivering safe, high-quality lifting operations using mobile cranes – with opportunities to train on gantry, dockside, tower cranes and telehandlers. You will be at the centre of high-profile naval activity, working flexibly and professionally as part of a tight-knit, multi-skilled team.

Salary dependent on skills and experience, with full UK Security Clearance required (or the ability to obtain it).

What do you need?

  • Mobile Crane Operator licence (current and valid)
  • Understanding of LOLER, PUWER and BS 7121
  • Experience in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
  • Team-player mindset with strong communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • willingness to work on-call and overtime as needed
  • Full right to work in the UK and eligible for Security Clearance

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience operating telehandlers or manual handling equipment
  • Slinging/signalling experience in heavy lift ops
  • Confidence using computers and mobile phones for daily admin
