We are recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join one of our key clients in Fareham. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a well‑established and highly respected organisation, joining a collaborative on‑site procurement team of four. This role is ideal for a commercially minded Buyer with a strong engineering or manufacturing background, looking to play a key role in developing a high‑performing supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • End‑to‑end purchasing of raw materials, mechanical components, and subcontract services
  • Sourcing and onboarding new suppliers, including performance evaluation
  • Negotiating pricing and contracts to meet cost and budget targets
  • Managing supplier performance across quality, cost, and delivery metrics
  • Raising and managing purchase and subcontract work orders
  • Collaborating with internal teams to support production and new product development
  • Building and maintaining strong, long‑term supplier relationships

About You

  • Proven experience as a Buyer within manufacturing or engineering
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Knowledge of materials, machining, and surface treatments (metals preferred)
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • CIPS/APICS qualification (or working towards) desirable
  • Aerospace sector experience advantageous
  • Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and solutions‑focused
